Welcome! These clips are from a large video collection that is now being converted from VHS/Beta to digital many from the 70's, 80's and 90's. SADLY, I DON'T HAVE THE ORIGINAL AIR DATES! There is some viewing quality loss from the original video source due to the age of the tapes, but the performances are preserved and still a joy to view. I'm finding many lost performances from vintage R&B, Soul, Pop, Broadway, Cabaret and other performances. This channel will be the Ed Sullivan channel for the digital generation, something for everyone to enjoy. Many of the performances will be seen for the first time since they were originally televised. I will be adding many musical performances from a variety of sources that I hope you will enjoy. Please hit the like button.

Without going into great detail, Mary Travers was the kindest, sweetest woman I ever met. We co hosted an oldies concert together in Connecticut, 1982. In a sea of bands from the '60s ready to perform, Mary was still pop music royalty, and she made me feel like I was the star, not her. I was a simple morning radio personality of marginal standing. Such generosity is likely a thing of the past, and 40 years later when I share that story with friends its hard not to tear up recalling the gift she gave me. Just such a wonderful spirit and an incredible talent.

I'm all teared up, what would I have been if I followed my voice and sang folk music for a living. I have loved this group since I was 5 years old and never turned down a chance to sing my heart out when asked to. In 1987 I was in a log cabin in Alaska taking care of business for my nephew and sister. The stock market had just crashed and after the winter I struggled greatly. Life takes many detours and high mountain roads only to leave a path called your life history. Peter Paul and Mary were a big part of my singing history. Recently I learned that I can still sing and I was spared of a diagnoses of Bladder Cancer. I will not squander my gift. I now have defiant tears of joy over the love I had for Peter. His days might be over on earth but dare to dream of a better planet with songs of love and in heaven lead by Peter and Mary shinning down on us. Peace on Earth and Joy to the world.

I listen Peter toPaul and Mary Travers back in grade school back in the 1970's. That's how I Wanted to play guitar and sing. Mary Travers had a nice voice it was like an angel I like the song if I had a Hammer . If I had a Hammer I sing in the morning I singing in the evening all over the stand I hang around danger I am around Justice I have her I love between my brothers and my sisters all over this land if I had a bad I ringing in the morning all over this land I ring out danger I ring out warning I ring I love between my brothers and my sisters over this man it's a hammer of Justice it's the Bell of freedom is a song of my brothers and sisters all over this land. Rest in peace Mary Travers we miss you. And there's still a lot of Injustice in this world. Answer my friend is blowing in the wind.

Yes indeed these were commercial favorites approved by the masses. However, you along with most Americans failed to understand their true messages of peace and social justice. There were many more brilliant songs that expressed their true selfs such as: “Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Blow’n in the Wind, Don’t Ever Take Away My Freedom, El Salvador, Conscientious Objector” and many others. Their messages of protest that questioned a policy of foreign intervention that brought only violence and war was not tolerated or acceptable then and even now in 2024. Their beautiful voices and words have been blow’n in the wind.

Paul always had this heavenly warm voice. In his older years his voice thinned out somewhat, but he still had that beautiful voice. And for a man with a baritone voice to be able to reach such incredibly high notes is testimony to the fact that he had phenomenal agility. Now that he's in his 90s, the fact that he can STILL sing quite well is amazing. Peter ( sadly ) can barely talk. His voice thinned out so much. Mary's voice was still fairly good here. But the years were unkind to her voice, as well. Paul's voice, however, has STILL stood the test of time!!!

I was an army captain in the 1960s. And somehow wound up looking at places for possible army employment. This was before "The March," and I saw Selma and Tuscaloosa not even knowing. For some reason I wound up in Atlanta and they were there so I got a ticket and saw the show. They were great, but, to be honest, if you have a good DVD of their concerts, the sound is probably better. They did sing all their "freedom" songs, but Atlanta is more cosmopolitan than the rural areas, so it went over as well as could be expected. This was the early days of Vietnam and the early days of the civil rights movement, so kind of quiet. The later years of the 60s were when all hell broke loose. TIME magazine even had a special issue called simply, "1968." I was in Vietnam. When I got back the US was completely different.

When they were on stage you felt connected to them and every person in the audience.....something I'd never felt before and haven't felt since. They energized you to be part of all of it for everyone's benefit. I met Mary a few times, and incredibly sweet lady, and I've been to Peter's home in NYC.......wonderful wonderful people. Thank GOD! these youtube videos and the DVD's and albums they made are out there for young people to see and hear!

Backstage at Woodstock, contemplating an anthill ablaze with industry, just when Zimmerman came around the corner a strong gust of wind set hundreds of ants swirling through the air.
"Hey Daniel, what's up," he queried. I replied, "The ants, here, my friend, are blowin' in the wind. ..."

This Land is your Land is still an ideal, not a reality.
